You might not feel any type of needle insertion because the needles are small and gentle. However, faint, dull discomfort or a small tingling sensation is expected when a needle achieves its appropriate depth. This could indicate that the acupuncture treatment is effective and the acupuncture point on the body is being stimulated. Some patients experience this as a light electric sensation in the body.
